Thanks to Takashi Iwai of the ALSA project the Linux community now has support for the Maudio USB Quattro 4 channel soundcard.
At this point the driver can access all the 4 output channels at upto 16bit/48Khz. 24bit operation is not yet supported due to the card having an unusual byte format of 3 instead of 4bytes-packed format. Work is being done to extend alsa-lib to allow for this format along with 18bit and 20bit. Currently the input channels for this card are not fully supported due to the Quattro not having internal mixer support. -- Patrick Shirkey - Boost Hardware Ltd.
