I'm trying to get this card working with alsa but failed.
modprobe snd-cs4236 snd_port=0x604 snd_cport=0x338 snd_irq=5 snd_mpu_irq=9
snd_mpu_port=0x330 snd_fm_port=0x388 snd_dma1=1 snd_dma2=0
just returns
CS4236+ soundcard not found or device busy
Everything in /proc/isapnp is still deactivated.
Ok, lets try isapnp directly.
Board 1 has Identity b7 ff ff ff ff 36 a8 63 0e: CSCa836 Serial No -1

Board 2 has Identity 7f ff ff ff ff 6e 43 83 12: DTC436e Serial No -1
[checksum 7f] CSCa836/-1[0]{CoDec }: Ports 0x604 0x388 0x220;
IRQ5 DMA1 DMA0 --- Enabled OK
CSCa836/-1[1]{Game Port }: Port 0x201; --- Enabled OK
CSCa836/-1[2]{CTRL }: Port 0x608; --- Enabled OK
CSCa836/-1[3]{Disabled [MIDI-2] }: --- Enabled OK
CSCa836/-1[4]{Synth }: Port 0x330; IRQ9 --- Enabled OK
CSCa836/-1[5]{Digital CTRL }: Port 0x338; --- Enabled OK
Still the same:
CS4236+ soundcard not found or device busy
I've tried 0x608 as cport too (not sure which one is meant) but same result.
This card worked once with OSS and alsa(maybe another version), now not even
with one of them. No problems with the other OS though.
