Hi,

I recently discovered the great midi capabilities of my SBLive card
(EMU101K), and am very pleased with the options provided by the Alsa
driver.

Nevertheless, the raw midi devices do not work properly (well, let's
say I probably messed something up in the setup .. ?) .. and I am
looking for help :)

So when I try eg
./playmidi1 -a 63:0 test.mid (this is the OSS interface)
I get a "subscribe: Operation not permitted" error.

Using 64:0 (yamaha psr-500 on external midi) or 65:0 (Wavetable synth)
is fine.

Furthermore './rawmidi -v -o /dev/midi' using whatever midi-device
(midi, midi0..xx, amidi, ...) leads to

512 > ./rawmidi -v -o /dev/midi
Using:
Input: NONE
Output: device /dev/midi
ALSA lib rawmidi.c:278:(snd_rawmidi_open_noupdate) Unknown RawMidi /dev/midi
snd_rawmidi_open /dev/midi failed: -2
Closing

whereas a './rawmidi -v -o hw:0,0' works.

I would be very grateful for any tips or hints.

I am using the 0.9.0rc1 Alsa version.
