Hi there! I recently installed alsa on my Sis630-based Laptop. I used the alsa-package included in SuSE Linux 8.0 and just had to run the "alsaconfig" utility, which modified /etc/modules.conf to load the snd-trident module.
I ran into troubles while trying to get Midi-Output. After I unmuted all channels using alsamixer I tried pmidi. Pmidi gives a list of 4 Midi-Ports. I tried them all, but none gives any output.
