Hi,
I have run into this very strange problem : I have an AWE32 ISA PnP, which with the ALSA drivers plays back perfectly. If I set the mixer, and choose my recording device (with alsamixer, kde's or gnome's) I can hear output from said device (line in, or CD audio generally). I cannot, however record from the input. rec (sox) gives no error, nothing in syslog, debug or messages, but it does take about 5 seconds to stop itself (i.e. cannot press ^C to stop it, but it eventually stops anyway). Gnome Sound recorder records an empty file, as does AVView, which uses ALSA libs. It is the latter that I must get working, but it is very strange to think that whilst I can play perfectly in any app of choice, recording just will not work. Any suggestions or questions greatly appreciated (at least it means you're taking the time to be slightly interested) :) Do let me know if I can increase the debugging at all. -- Martyn Ranyard Free Software Advocate _______________________________________________________________ Have big pipes?
