To clarify, a stereo radio station (and several wav and au files that are likely stereo-encoded) sound like they're trying to play short segments of both L and R tracks sequentially, rather than playing them synchronously through their respective speaker. From my poking around in /proc/asound, it appears to me as if ALSA has enabled both stereo channels, but it's really only a guess based on /proc/asound/card0/pcm0p/info, which says subdevices_count: 2 (on the other hand subdevices_avail: 1 might indicate only one playback channel is active, resulting in my odd playback).
Any clues what else I should check?
Thanks,

RealPlayer 8.0-1 gives me very broken playback when listening to a stereo radio station, but not on a mono station at about the same speed. I've been trying to figure out how to narrow this down to a problem with RealPlayer or my ALSA installation. Can anyone give me any pointers? Things to look at in /proc, config files, stereo sound files to play, and so on...
