I am trying to get alsa 0.9 working on my old Compaq Presario 1267 which has
an es1868 sound chip/card in it. The card does not seem to be ISA PNP and is
not autodetected in any way that I have been able to locate.

I can get the OSS sound working using the sb module. However when trying to
modprobe the es18xx driver, it fails with the usual message about no such
device and irq problems. I tried the sb 16 and 8 drivers and they give the
same message and fail to load.

Does anyone know whether this card is alsa compatible? The chip does seem to
be. Does anyone have any suggestions for things that I haven't tried, like
passing module parameters or such?
