Hello!

I have one sound device installed in my computer. Thus I can only
have one application play sound at a time. Can I let ALSA mix
output streams of OSS- and ALSA-applications and play them all on
this one sound device at once?

I think jack would be capable of mixing audio streams, but it seems
it does only support "jackified" applications. Is it possible to
redirect output to OSS- and ALSA-pcm-devices to jack to support
not-jackified apps? Perhaps by using jack as a sound server?

I found a "type mix" in acoundrc.txt, but it does not seem to be
implemented yet. Would this pcm-type do the mixing I want? Would
it be possible to let many applications open it at a time?

Thanks in advance,

        Raoul
