I went through the 686 driver and copied all of the mpu and joystick
stuff over AFAICT. However ns558 still doesn't load with my hacked
driver. I'm not even sure that ns558 is supposed to load...

Unfortunately I am not a kernel hacker. Even if I was I do not have
any documentation on the inner-workings of the card... I'm eager to
learn though. Does anyone know where a gentle tutorial into the world
of developing alsa kernel drivers? How about technical info on the
8233? Or is there a brave soul willing to review my hack and help me
get it working?
