I am almost finished compiling the alsa-util-0.9beta12 portion of the alsa sound drivers and I get this error: Please help!
configure: error: Sufficiently new version of libasound not found. I am installing the alsa-0.9beta12 drivers on a straight Red Hat 7.2 install on Dell hardware (Dell Precision 210) with a 2.4.9-13 kernal w/ the hearders loaded (kernel-headers-2.4.9-13 - rpmed) I cannot get past this error - I have tried the --prefix option for the ./configure but it says the asoundlib is not new enough.
