>From the alsa-project web site: "2002-02-26 ALSA packages 0.9.0beta12 were released." Apparently Suse 8.0 ships with the cvs version you mentioned above. That is where the cvs development version stood on March 20th. So there isn't an "official" beta version equivalent to what Armin is using.
