Hi!

Is there a Fine Manual for controlling the mixers of a card with a
Envy24 (Hoontech Sound Track + DSP2000)?

According to the documentation there are two mixers. One is on the
card and is called the internal mixer. The other one is in the
external box and is called the external one.

I have used two software mixers: alsamixer and envy24control. How do
they correspond to the hardware mixers? Does alsamixer control the
internal mixer and envy24control the external one or something like
that?

I would like to play music from the hard disk, input sound from
microphones to the external box, mix it with the music and output it
through the analogue balanced connector (a-out 1 and 2) on the
external box. The mono mics would have to be panned to suitable
places in the environment.

I tried envy24control. I went to the Patchbay/Router page and chose
Digital mix L+R. Then I could influence the sound but it only
affected the SPDIF out not the analogue output. Still the users guide
says: "The external Mixer will only change the audible signal. You can
output it either through Output 1,2 and/or through the S/PDIF
Output". What should I do to be able to control the analogue output?

Also I also tried alsamixer but I couldn't achieve anything.

The users guide shows how you do routing in Windows and how you can
control buffering et al. How do you do those things with Alsa?

Also when I start envy24control there is an error "Unable to read
Delta S/PDIF output state: no such file or directory" and occationally
"Unable to write Delta S/PDIF output state: no such file or
directory".

TIA
rh
