Greetings! I'm building a new system for audio work under linux (P4 1.7, i850 chipset, 512MB RDRAM, UW-SCSI-2 hard drives). It's time to make a sound card decision and would like some advice since last time i had to make this decision i wasted a lot of money.
I'd like to be able to work in quad so I'm basically looking for a good quality card supported under ALSA with the following minimum I/O: 2-ch ADC 4-ch DAC 96/24 would be great, but 48/16 options are welcome as well. Digital I/O would be nice, but not a must. Any pointers or advice would be great. Thank you in advance.
