I don't mean to come across sounding stupid, etc... but I haven't been
able to find anything online that explains how to set up the
configuration files to configure ALSA to play MIDI on my GUS PnP, even
though (from what I gather), the ability is there.
If you can't play MIDI files on the GUS PnP, then I'm sorry for
bothering everybody. Otherwise, does anybody know how to set up the
different configuration files that need to be set up to load the patch
files / enable OSS MIDI emulation? (The only relevant configuration
files I'm aware of are /etc/asound.state and /etc/modules.conf - if
there are more, let me know :)
I appreciate everybody's help, and even if there isn't MIDI for my
sound card, I'll still be using ALSA - (free) OSS drivers for the GUS
series of cards bites - so let me congratulate the ALSA team on a job
well done so far.
