I have Redhat 7.2, and I want to start doing raw recordings of -lots- of 16-bit/44Hz sound streams, as many as I can get away with/cram onto the hard drive at once.
I know I can just buy lots of Soundblasters, but I only have so many PCI slots after all. Could anyone suggest a good multi-stereo-channel-input sound card? Extra points if it records at better-than-average quality. I'm sure there must be two or three well-loved multi-input workhorses out there, but I'll be damned if I know what they are.
