Hi,

This letter is rather terse, in a hurry.

  $ ./configure --with-sequencer=yes --with-isapnp=no
--with-oss=no --with-debug=full
--with-kernel=/usr/src/linux-2.4.18pre6-source

A diff of alsa.m4 from current, Mon Jan 28 13:38:30
CST 2002, CVS to 0.9.0beta10 tar shows that the
alsa.m4 tar hasn't updated. Which results in "no
linkable libasound."

CVS checked out on Mon Jan 13:54:27 CST 2002

I tried the tar because CVS alsa-driver produced:
configure:1528: result: yes
configure:1555: gcc -c -g -O2  conftest.c >&5
conftest.c:2: parse error before `me'
configure:1558: $? = 1
configure: failed program was:
#ifndef __cplusplus
  choke me
#endif
