Hi, I have try to compile and install 0.9.0 Beta 10. The documentation I follow is the mini howto which is I think pretty outdated. I made the following standard steps for driver, library and utils:
./Configure make make install But when I run snddevices it created a link called snd in /dev pointing to /proc/asound/dev. Such a folder does not exist. I am running Red Hat 7.2 kernel 2.4.7-10. Also I cannot find where the resulting drivers for the sound cards are located. Are there any recent documentation on how to configure, compile and install ALSA?
