I have a test sequence I use to determine the playback efficiency of any software sequencer. The sequence was composed on Voyetra's Sequencer Plus Gold, it includes many very fast passages with near-simultaneous note-ons, sustain pedal events, and tempo changes. The piece will play perfectly in Sequencer Plus (naturally), even under DOSemu (!), and will do almost as well played by MusE when routed to my external synth (a Yamaha TX802). However, the EMU10K1 synth stalls on the "thick" passages, and I have been told that this is a hardware problem. Since I don't use Windows I can't verify the assertion, but has anyone else noticed similar behavior with the SBLive running on another OS besides Linux ?
