The --with-kernel option is the path to the kernel sources not the kernel image, if they are in /usr/source/linux then you don't need it. You need to have the (configured) kernel sources for the same kernel version as you are running installed to compile ALSA. It doesn't need to have the same configuration as the being configured bit is only to get a version.h include file.
