Hi christopher,
Yes it works but not as a digital pass thru , it takes the digital
stream from the 2 pin out on my dvd-rom and outputs it via
the optical ok, but no surround sound - although, i do use Mplayer
instead of xine for playing dvd's and it does a VERY good job at
downmixing from 5.1 to 2 channel sound.
