I've been unable get alsa working under SuSE 7.3 and was wondering if anyone
else had a problem (or success) with this combination.
I'm using alsa-0.5.11-55 (which is what SuSE distributes in 7.3)
with a SoundBlaster PCI128 (Ensoniq 1371).
alsaconf correctly identifies the card and does not generate any
error messages, but it's sound test does not generate any sound, nor
does any other app. (I also tried configuring with yast2; same
result);
I did use amixer to set the levels, so that's not the problem.
I'm stumped; any comments or suggestions would be appreciated.
