Hi, I'm owner of the HP Omnibook 4150B notebook. It includes the ESS maestro 2e rev.10 chipset. I tried to get it running with ALSA in hope it's supported, but soon noticed, rev.10 is excluded. This is what I know from probing by myself and saw that on the maestro-users list. The posting was some months old and I don't know, if the state changed since then.
My card works with the maestro kernel driver, but I want to use ALSA. Some infos about my system: linux 2.4.16, ALSA 0.9.10a lspci -v 00:08.0 Multimedia audio controller: ESS Technology ES1978 Maestro 2E (rev 10) Subsystem: Hewlett-Packard Company: Unknown device 000a Flags: bus master, medium devsel, latency 64, IRQ 10 I/O ports at f800 [size=256] Capabilities: [c0] Power Management version 2 The driver itself works - no loads! - I get some input from the buildin micro, but headphones and speakers stay calm - no sound output. Can anybody give me some hints. Nikolaus _______________________________________________ Alsa-user mailing list [EMAIL PROTECTED] https://lists.sourceforge.net/lists/listinfo/alsa-user
