I tried to install the ALSA drivers (0.9.0beta10) for my new Terratec EWX 24/96 soundcard under Linux 2.4.15. The card is fully functional under Windows ME, and SW installation under Linux proceeded smoothly. When booting, the ice1712 driver fails to load with the message: "unable to find CS8427 signature (expected 0x71, read 0x0), initialization is not completed". Now, when I change line 3625 in card-ice1712.c to "has_i2c = 0;" the driver loads. I am able to record (using krecord-1.9) and use the mixer (envy24control), but playback fails (using krecord-1.9 or xmms-1.2.5: both dump core, ALSA support). Can you provide some help? I consider myself as an experienced programmer, even at the system level. So if you have some technical information for me, I may find a solution myself, which I could feed back. Thank you, F.
