I have tried that, it only outputs through the front speakers. I also tried -D rear, same thing, and I even tried to run 2 alsaplayers, one with -D front, one with -D rear or -D surround40 : the two streams are mixed in the front speakers ! And yes I did unmute and set the volume for wave surround. Could this be a routing issue or something ? Do I need to enable anything in modules.conf ? Also, I don't have an asound.conf, is it needed and if so how to generate it ? > > Xine also only want to output 2 channels even though I enabled > > four_channel in .xinerc, but that could be something else... > I think so. I've heard xine supports very well ALSA 0.9 API. I've been able to tell xine to output on 4 channels now, so the problem is probably with alsa. thanks for your time -- ----------------------------------------------- Renaud Guerin [EMAIL PROTECTED] - [EMAIL PROTECTED] Génie des Systèmes d'Information et de Décision Université de Technologie de Troyes (France) ----------------------------------------------- _______________________________________________ Alsa-user mailing list [EMAIL PROTECTED] https://lists.sourceforge.net/lists/listinfo/alsa-user
