Duncan, Thanks for your reply. When alsa built, it put everything in /lib/modules/2.4.7-10/misc, and didn't create an /alsa directory under /lib/modules/2.4.7-10. I created the alsa directory myself, moved all the .o files from the misc directory (there is a snd-card- via8233.o there) into it, but still get the same error. Any other suggestions?
