I don't know about aumix but if you have the alsa-utils installed you
can use 'alsactl' (see 'man alsactl') to save / restore mixer settings.

Adding a 'post-install snd-card-<your_card> alsactl restore' line to your 
/etc/modules.conf file should do the trick once you've saved the mixer
settings with 'alsactl store'.
