I wrote once before and got no response so I would just like to find out
what this error could possibly mean and how to resolve it:

demsg reports:

PCI: Found IRQ 10 for device 00:0f.0
snd: fm801: AC'97 interface is busy (1)

/var/log/messages reports:

Dec 3 16:07:40 localhost kernel: PCI: Found IRQ 10 for device 00:0f.0
Dec 3 16:07:40 localhost kernel: snd: fm801: AC'97 interface is busy (1)
Dec 3 16:07:40 localhost last message repeated 2 times
Dec 3 16:07:40 localhost kernel: snd: The AC'97 access is not valid,
removing mixer.
Dec 3 16:07:40 localhost kernel: snd: ForteMedia FM801 soundcard #1 not
found or device busy
Dec 3 16:07:40 localhost insmod:
/lib/modules/2.4.2-2/misc/snd-card-fm801.o: init_module: No such device
Dec 3 16:07:40 localhost insmod: Hint: insmod errors can be caused by
incorrect module parameters, including invalid IO or IRQ parameters
Dec 3 16:07:40 localhost insmod:
/lib/modules/2.4.2-2/misc/snd-card-fm801.o: insmod sound-slot-0 failed

This is the only error I get whether with version 0.5.12 or 0.9beta. If I
manually load the snd-ac97-codec and then try modprobe snd-card-fm801 I
still get the error. Everything compiled without problems
(driver, lib, utils) I just cannot load this module. I'm using a Super Sound
Origins PCI diamond DT-0398 card in Red Hat 7.1 with the precompiled
2.4.2-2 kernel that came with it. Help please!!!

Brett
