dumb newbie question: oss emulation seems to be working fine for me, except when i do ecasound -a:1 -i:t0.wav -o:/dev/dsp -a:2 -i:/dev/dsp -o:/t1.wav
i get both the contents of t0.wav and the line in t1.wav, in other words the output from the wav is getting captured along with the line input. i'm pretty sure this isn't how this command is supposed to work (although i cross posted this question on the ecasound-list). also, # ecasound -i test1.wav -o alsa gives me ERROR: [ECA-CHAINSETUP] : "Enabling chainsetup: AUDIOIO-ALSA2: Unable to open ALSA-device for playback; error: Sound protocol is not compatible" and # mpg123 -o alsa test1.mp3 gives Error opening libao alsa driver. (Is device in use?) is something wrong or do i just not know what i'm doing? ---- edge:/# aplay -l card 0: card0 [Yamaha DS-XG PCI (YMF744)], device 0: YMFPCI [YMFPCI] Subdevices: 32/32 Subdevice #0: subdevice #0 Subdevice #1: subdevice #1 [..] Subdevice #30: subdevice #30 Subdevice #31: subdevice #31 card 0: card0 [Yamaha DS-XG PCI (YMF744)], device 1: YMFPCI - IEC958 [YMFPCI - IEC958] Subdevices: 1/1 Subdevice #0: subdevice #0 card 0: card0 [Yamaha DS-XG PCI (YMF744)], device 2: YMFPCI - Rear [YMFPCI - Rear PCM] Subdevices: 1/1 Subdevice #0: subdevice #0 edge:/# cat /proc/asound/sndstat Sound Driver:3.8.1a-980706 (ALSA v0.9.0beta8a emulation code) Kernel: Linux edge 2.4.5 #5 Tue Oct 2 20:46:45 EDT 2001 i686 Config options: 0 Installed drivers: Type 10: ALSA emulation Card config: Yamaha DS-XG PCI (YMF744) at 0xcc8a7000, irq 10 Audio devices: 0: YMFPCI (DUPLEX) Synth devices: 0: OPL3 FM Midi devices: 0: MPU-401 (UART) Timers: 7: system timer Mixers: 0: mixer00 -- Lewis W.
