dumb newbie question:
oss emulation seems to be working fine for me, except when i do
ecasound -a:1 -i:t0.wav -o:/dev/dsp -a:2 -i:/dev/dsp -o:/t1.wav

i get both the contents of t0.wav and the line in t1.wav, in other
words the output from the wav is getting captured along with the line
input. i'm pretty sure this isn't how this command is supposed to
work (although i cross posted this question on the ecasound-list).

also,
# ecasound -i test1.wav -o alsa
gives me
ERROR: [ECA-CHAINSETUP] : "Enabling chainsetup: AUDIOIO-ALSA2: Unable to open
ALSA-device for playback; error: Sound protocol is not compatible"

and
# mpg123 -o alsa test1.mp3
gives
Error opening libao alsa driver. (Is device in use?)

is something wrong or do i just not know what i'm doing?
