Hi I've got Red Hat 7.2 running with the MSI K7T 266 mainboard as well. I believe this uses the via8233 module rather than the via686a - At least, I found something to that effect in the archives of this list & it works for me.
One thing, the via686a module has an snd_joystick option, as far as I can tell, the via8233 doesn't. Does any one know how to get the gameport going on a MSI K7T with Red Hat 7.2? Various combinations of ns558, input, gameport & joydev modules failed. I used to use joystick=0x200 with an old SoundBlaster on my last machine.
