Re: the video, some video card drivers actually hog the PCI
bus, they do some sort of illegal use of it that does not
release it appropriately for other cards to use. The result is
better video card "performance" at the expense of all other
pci cards.

What software exactly is giving you trouble?
Is it using the alsa native api or oss emulation?
