Hello,

I read in old postings that there is a driver but no mixer avaible for the
RME DIGI96/8. Does that mean, that everybody is able to install the card
proper but there is no way to hear or record music with it?

lsmod:

snd-mixer-oss 4864 0 (autoclean) (unused)
snd-mixer 23200 0 (autoclean) [snd-mixer-oss]
snd-card-rme96 1552 0
snd-rme96 6656 0 [snd-card-rme96]
snd-pcm 295 0 [snd-rme96]
snd-timer 8144 0 [snd-pcm]
snd 32592 1 [snd-mixer-oss snd-mixer snd-card-rme96
snd-rme96 snd-pcm snd-timer]
soundcore 3632 0 [snd]

But if you do: cat /proc/asound/sndstat

tho following error comes:

Sound Driver:3.8.1a-980706 (ALSA v0.5.11 emulation code)
Kernel: Linux fb4server 2.4.4-4GB #1 Wed May 16 00:37:55 GMT 2001 i686
Config options: 0

Installed drivers:
Type 10: ALSA emulation

Card config:

Audio devices: NOT ENABLED IN CONFIG

Synth devices: NOT ENABLED IN CONFIG

Midi devices: NOT ENABLED IN CONFIG

Timers:

Mixers: NOT ENABLED IN CONFIG

What must I do to use the DIGI96/8 PST as a soundcard?

My config:

SuSE Linux 7.2
Kernel 2.4.4 4GB
KDE 2.2.1
