I'm really sorry, but you've probably noted that I used ??rear?? (the notes of interrogation are really there), because I really don't know how are SB Live 5.1 cards physically connected. I own SB Live 1024 and 512. > have a SBLive 5.1, is there any way I can make use of the combined > digital/analog output to have 6 descrete analog chanels? As far as I know these steps should be done: amixer set Center 100% amixer set LFE 100% amixer set Surround 100% aplay -D center_lfe <filename.wav> If it doesn't work, please, send me output from 'amixer scontrols'. I could be wrong, but it appears that the Center/LFE jack is connected to the surround DAC of the AC'97 codec (that's why the Surround control belonging to the AC'97 codec should be modified). > What about the 60 or so "EMU10K1 PCM" and "EMU10K1 PCM send" channels that > show up in my alsamixer and have no affect on the sound output? They're described in the latest document.
