i have an i810 based system with Win98 and Linux 7.1. I was very happy the way Linux behaved this time.(Any way I have always liked it). My only problem with Linux is that I cannot play MIDI with playmidi. Timidity does not play all the instruments. after some digging in i found that the drivers do not support MIDI. But, I have 2 questions: 1) Win 98 detects a MPU401 device and plays MIDI on it. But on linux, "insmod mpu401 irq=10 io=0x300"(that is the device address on my system) does not give any results. Why? 2) Some Windows games detect my card as Sound Blaster Compatible and everything worked fine. How is this? I tried doing it on Linux and the results were negative. Can anybody please help? vijeth
