so... I got Alsa.9b8 to try and get some realtime syncing of my DVD playing. Congrats on Alsa, very well done! It emulates OSS perfectly and works as well, if not better than OSS and I love the modularity of it, not to mention the source is very well commented.
but...when I got to play a movie in Xine, under oss emulation it works fine (but no sound sync still)... When I use native alsa09 driver in Xine the sample rate is set for 48khz (which the card can't do. interestingly the driver surring this time says in proc that its running at 44.1... and I get a nice pile of hiss... thanks versions: xine0.9.1 alsa 0.9b8a I ahve tried enabling xine's resample switch and it simply resamples to 48khz... lotta good that does!
