I just d/l'ed and attempted install of alsa-lib-0.9.0beta8. The configure
and make went fine. When I installed, I got the following error:

    make  install-data-hook
    make[3]: Entering directory
        `/hfs/WIP/hosler/ALSA/alsa-lib-0.9.0beta8/include'
    rm -f /usr/include/alsa/asoundef.h
    ln -s -f ../sound/asoundef.h /usr/include/alsa/asoundef.h
    # should be removed in future
    test -d /usr/include/sys || mkdir -p /usr/include/sys
    /usr/bin/install -c -m 644 sys.h /usr/include/sys/asoundlib.h
    /usr/bin/install: cannot stat `sys.h': No such file or directory
    make[3]: *** [install-data-hook] Error 1

May I know, please, where is sys.h supposed to come from. I cannot locate it in
the ALSA distribution.

thank you, and regards,

-Greg

   You can release software that's good, software that's inexpensive, or
   software that's available on time. You can usually release software
   that has 2 of these 3 attributes -- but not all 3.
