For the helpful ones out there :)

I was trying to compile alsa-driver 0.5.11 on my linux box running kerner version
2.2.17 (from a debian potato install). I suddenly got an error message something like
"dma_addr_t is not defined in file compat22.c blah blah" (I'm really sorry for not
being more precise, but I forgot to write it down yesterday night 3 a.m. ...) I
checked it in the source and saw a typedef for dma_addr_t but embraced within an #if
(KERNEL_VERSION < 2.2.17)...#endif pair. I suppose this explains the error message,
but what can I do now? I don't really want to downgrade to lesser kernel version, nor
did I intend to get on with the development versions of ALSA (0.9.xx). Any advice that
helps is warmly welcome.

By the way I would like to use ALSA with my Monster Sound MX400. The card matrix says
that it can be driven with the es1968 driver. Does anyone have experience?

Best regards, and thanks in advance
