Interesting, I tried copying what I wanted to remove and went to EDIT menu inside of Konsole, and there's no cut command. You manually have to put your cursor at the end of the word you want to delete and backspace until you only have what you want above.

To delete a line, use
<CTRL><k>
with the cursor anywhere on the line.

... but note (in Setup / Config [ Composer Preferences ] ):
               FEATURE: Ctrl-K Cuts From Cursor
     This feature controls the behavior of the Ctrl-K command in the
     composer. If set, ^K will cut from the current cursor position
     to the end of the line, rather than cutting the entire line.


Then, if that is the default, it is possible that I have always (without thinking about it) had the cursor at the start of the line, when I have used <CTRL><k> .
