Sorry Bret,I didn't intend to be offensive, but when you wrote Try using Linux Mint instead of Ubuntu I took it to mean that alpine and Ubuntu are incompatible. In that were true, alpine should in my opinion not be distributed with Ubuntu. Fortunately, the solution suggested by Eduardo clears up this matter.
