Just checking the reception for this idea (and possible extensions):
---
[Lore: there is a thriving cross-fit community in the underworld. As
their punishment, they have no big truck tires they can flip, and they
yearn for new workouts of the day besides push-ups and burpees.]
This is a rule:
{
Crossfitters is an non-negative integer switch.
The value of Crossfitters is also called “the amount of crossfitters”
Any player CAN, by agoran consent, if no other player has done so that
week, and if the Height of the boulder is at least as large as the
amount of crossfitters, sumon a crossfiter. When e does so, the value of
Crossfiters is increased by one, and the Boulder's height is decreased
by original value of Crossfitters.
To set the value of Crosfitters to 0 is to “dismiss the crossfitters”,
and that happens when the rules say “the crossfitters are dismissed”.
}
In the Boulder rule, replace:
At the beginning of each week, if the boulder was pushed in the
previous week at least as many times as the Boulder's Slope, then
the Boulder's Slope is increased by 1; otherwise, the Boulder's
Height is set to 0, and the Boulder's Slope is set to 1.
with this:
At the beginning of each week, if the boulder was pushed in the
previous week at least as many times as the Boulder's Slope
minus the value of Crossfiters, then the Boulder's Slope is
increase by 1; otherwise, the Boulder's Height is set to 0, and
the Boulder's Slope is set to 1, and the crossfitters are dismissed.

We can also change the theme to something a bit more… poetic, like
summoning demons.
