YES, and we should by precedent.
If I understand correctly, you specifically meant "evaluating this one
for whether or not there was clear and unambiguous intent to become a
player". (I agree that no, there wasn't. And even if there was, there
would need to be clear and unambiguous intent to become a player *at a
certain time*, or else it still fails; constructions amounting to "I
hereby become a player if I'm not already one" have been accepted, but
more complex conditionals may once again need a CFJ to sort them out.)
