You made two mistakes here, which fortunately end up cancelling each other out: but I thought it was worth warning you in case you make them in the future. One is that pledge violations are enforced by the Referee (after a finger-pointing), not by the player who broke the pledge; punishing yourself for breaking a pledge doesn't prevent the need for the normal mechanisms to also be applied. So trying to punish yourself just ends up doubling the punishment. The other is that you didn't technically break the pledge yet. To "change" a vote is defined as retracting it, then casting a new vote; and you didn't cast a new vote. So the retraction, although it might break the spirit of the pledge, doesn't break the letter (and thus the Referee won't have to investigate after all). -- ais523
