Here are some notes I've observed in going through the FLR history data to clean it up:
- Application of revision numbers has been occasionally inconsistent. At one point, they were clearly defined as "the number of times a rule with a given ID number has been amended", but this is no longer explicit. I feel that this is the best definition, however, and this has resulted in some changed revision numbers. Most notably, a few very old rules such as 1006 and 1023 were amended by rule immediately after the proposal that gave them their current ID numbers, and this was not previously counted. A few other rules had amendments inserted into their history (sometimes e.g. due to a ratification) that were not given revision numbers, these were also corrected. - Proposal 7729 was listed as being authored by Henri in one proposal and Tiger in another. I've listed this as "Tiger or Henri" until I can sort out the truth. - On various occasions, rulekeepors combined multiple changes made by a single proposal into one change in the history. Rule 1681 is clear that each Rule Change must be recorded separately. While I would like to correct all this data, doing it for all cases where a proposal amended a rule multiple times is infeasible. That said, on a number of occasions, the history indicated that a single proposal changed a rule's power and amended it, or retitled it and amended it. These are all sufficiently recent that I intend to fix every instance of these, although not right away. Very old rule changes where a rule was simultaneously infected and amended I have not changed, since I will need to determine if I can find rulesets and proposals from those times in order to evaluate if these were indeed one single change or two distinct changes. - Recently, old and new powers have been omitted from power changing records in the history. This is sufficiently recent that I intend to fix this, although I haven't yet. - Amendments with no effect were sporadically recorded as null-amendment on a small number of rules. I've removed these from the history since they were not actually rule changes. - I've updated all occurrence of nicknames in the history to use the most recent names I am aware of. If anyone notices any missed updates from older players, please let me know. - The notation on cleanups by rule has occasionally omitted the identity of the rule actually effecting the change. I have not corrected this yet, but plan to try to consistently include both the executor and the rule responsible. My data format here needs work, however, so the first revision will not track rule 2430's name in the history as others' FLRs have recently. - Converting history into a structured data format will allow interesting analyses, such as the number of proposals a player has authored that affected rules still in the ruleset. - Alexis
