(Using Yahoo! webmail, again, so I've had to try to correct the
formatting by hand; I hope it looks OK.)

Pariah is my second-favourite out of the mechanics I've invented,
after promises. It didn't work too well in practice, though, because
people were scared to take it. (It also lead to an awesome yet
unexpected scam, which I discovered some time after submitting
the proposal; it didn't work in practice because I was too cautious
about it being discovered in advance and thus didn't give a clear
enough intent for it to work, which is something of a theme of my
failed scams. Perhaps next time I have a scam-related intent,
I'll just be really blatant about it and hope that nobody steps in to
stop the scam.)
