I don't think so; I wrote motions so that trivial fixes could be made and points raised for the original judge to reconsider, but I specifically had in mind that it could also promote some good old-fashioned judicial snark: "the motion-filers are full of it! I vacate the motion and stand by what I said, and strengthen my counterargument thus!" And the judge's opinion would carry full weight if it thereafter went to appeal. -G.
