[Crossing the AAA with some ideas from the board game Puerto
Rico. Thoughts?]

1) Administrivia:

   a) The name of this contest is "The Banana Republic of Agora".

   b) The Vice President of Agriculture (hereafter VPoA) is the
contestmaster of this contest, and performs all random
      selections specified by it.

   c) Actions defined by this contest are performed by announcement
      unless otherwise specified.

   d) Any player CAN join this contest. Contestants of this contest
      are known as Farmers.

   e) Any Farmer CAN leave this contest. Any Farmer CAN, without
objection, cause another Farmer to leave this contest.

   f) Any Farmer CAN, without 3 objections, amend this contest.

2) Assets:

   a) All assets backed by this contest are restricted to Farmers. The
VPoA is the recordkeeper of all assets backed by this contest.

   b) Each type of Crop is a currency. There are eleven types of
Crops, represented by the numbers 0 through 9 and X (10).

   c) Each type of Ranch is a currency. There are ten types of Ranches,
represented by the numbers 0 through 9.

   d) Each type of Mill is a currency. There are four types of Mills,
      represented by the operators +, -, * and /.

   e) Flax is a currency. At the end of the week, if at least one
Farmer has at least 300 Flax, then each such Farmer wins this
contest, and all assets backed by this contest are destroyed.

3) Actions:

   a) When a Ranch produces, one Crop with the same number is created
in the possession of the Ranch's owner.

   b) When a Mill processes, two Crops (the Inputs) owned and specified
by the Mill's owner are destroyed, and a number specified by the
Mill's owner and equal (modulo eleven) to the Inputs combined by
the Mill's operator is created in the possession of the Mill's
      owner.

   c) When an ID number is harvested, for each digit in its canonical
base-ten representation, one Crop with that number is destroyed
in the possession of the harvesting Farmer. X Crops are
substituted as explicitly specified by the Farmer, or implicitly
as needed unless the Farmer specifies that they are not.

4) Roles:

   a) The Order of Play is an ordered list of all Farmers. New Farmers
are added to the bottom. At the beginning of each week, the
Farmer at the top moves to the bottom.

   b) Each week, the top three Farmers CAN and SHALL (in order, without
repetition among that week's selections) specify exactly one role
that will be in play during the following week. At the beginning
of each week, all roles cease to be in play, then the roles
specified during the previous week come to be in play. In the
context of a role, the privileged Farmer is the Farmer who
caused it to be in play.

   c) Planter is a role. While it is in play, the VPoA CAN and SHALL
create one Ranch (and a second for the privileged Farmer) in each
Farmer's possession, each with a random number.

   d) Producer is a role. While it is in play, each Ranch produces (and
the privileged Farmer CAN once cause one of eir specifie Ranches
      to produce again).

   e) Writer is a role. While it is in play, each Farmer CAN harvest
the ID number of a proposal in its voting period to gain 1 Flax
per digit (the privileged Farmer gains 1 more from eir first
      harvest).

   f) Lawyer is a role. While it is in play, each Farmer CAN harvest
the ID number of a CFJ initiated within the past week to gain
1 Flax per digit (the privileged Farmer gains 1 more from eir
      first harvest).

   g) Surveyor is a role. While it is in play, each Farmer CAN harvest
the ID number of a rule created, amended or repealed within the
past week to gain 1 Flax per digit (the privileged Farmer gains
1 more from eir first harvest).

   h) Renaissance Man is a role. While it is in play, each Farmer CAN
harvest the number 1234567890 to gain 10 Flax (the privileged
      Farmer gains 4 more).

5) Equity:

   a) Upon a judicial finding that a proposal or CFJ was created
for the clear and primary purpose of Harvesting the ID number
assigned to it, the VPoA CAN and SHALL adjust the holdings of
assets backed by this contest as specified by that finding, or
otherwise as e sees fit. A Farmer SHALL NOT so create.

   b) If a Farmer has not specified a role within one day of it being
eir turn to do so, the VPoA CAN and SHALL cause em to specify a
random role from among the valid choices.
