Not really; it's already worth your while to ask if a CoE existed; if you don't, you might be guilty of failing to respond to one in a week (and I could easily remind you that it's your duty unless you challenge that duty, thus getting rid of the "I thought the CoE didn't exist" defense if you don't bother to ask that question...) -G.
