I know it is too late, but here is a copy of the Protection Racket agreement (as it presently stands): TEXT OF AGREEMENT ------------------ 1. This is a public contract, the name of which is the Protection Racket. 2. Any player CAN join this contract by announcement. When a first-class player joins this contract for the first time one Favor is created in eir possession. Parties to this contract are known as Dons. Any Don CAN post their intention to leave this contract. Two weeks after doing so they cease to be bound by this contract. Any Don can cause another Don to cease to be bound by this contract without the objection of a Don. 3. The Don shall act collectively to ensure that the Protection Racket fulfills its obligations. Any Don CAN act on behalf of the Protection Racket with the majority consent of the Dons. If there are five or more Dons then any Don CAN amend this contract without the objection of two Dons, otherwise any Don may amend this contract without the objection of a Don. 4. Favors are a currency whose recordkeeper is the Godfather. Initially the Godfather is BobTHJ. Any player CAN specify a list of non-fixed assets they control to "request a favor". If the majority of the Dons consent to this request that player CAN transfer the specified assets to the Protection Racket. As soon as possible after doing so the Godfather SHALL create one Favor in eir possession. 5. Any Don CAN transfer any or all assets owned by the Protection Racket to one or more Dons with the majority consent of the Dons. 6. Any person CAN destroy a Favor in eir possession by announcement to "Call in a Favor". This announcement shall include a reference to a specific CFJ (which is not already Protected) and a desired outcome for that CFJ. Upon doing so that CFJ becomes Protected and the Dons are then obligated to act within their power to attempt to ensure the desired outcome is acheived on that CFJ as follows: a) If the CotC is a Don, e is required to assign a Don to judge the Protected CFJ if permitted by the rules. b) If the Judge of the Protected CFJ is a Don, e is required to rule in accordance with the desired outcome. c) All Dons are prohibited from appealing or supporting an appeal of the Protected CFJ which has been judged in accordance with the desired outcome. d) All Dons are required to attempt to appeal the Protected CFJ if a judgment contradictory to the desired outcome is issued on that CFJ when permitted by the rules e) Any Don on a Judicial Panel of an appeal of that CFJ is required to only support and/or issue judgments on that CFJ that would permit or cause it to be judged with the desired outcome. 7. If the CotC is not a Don, and e assigns a non-Don to be Judge of a Protected CFJ, and that Judge fails to issue a judgement in accordance with the desired outcome then the Dons are collectively obligated to nominate a Don for the Office of CotC in a timely fashion if permitted by the rules. Once one Don has fulfilled this obligation all Dons are released from it. This obligation does not apply if an election has been held for the Office of CotC within the past two weeks. 8. A Don CAN cause a Protected CFJ to cease to be a Protected CFJ with the majority consent of the Dons. All Dons are released from any obligations regarding a CFJ which is no longer Protected. 9. Any Don CAN cause a criminal CFJ naming themselves as the defendant and arising as a result of an action taken by that Don to fulfill one of eir obligations under this contract to become a Protected CFJ with a specified desired outcome by announcement. 10. When a non-Don initiates a criminal CFJ against a Don as a result of an action that Don took to fulfill eir obligations under this contract that non-Don becomes Marked. Any Don may cause a criminal CFJ against a Marked person to become Protected by announcement. The desired outcome of that CFJ is GUILTY - EXILE with the maximum tariff. A Marked person CAN cease to be marked by destroying a Favor in eir possession by announcement. 11. A Don SHALL NOT voluntarily take any action which would cause them to be ineligible to judge any CFJ. If a Don can take an action legally which would make them eligible to judge more CFJs e SHALL take that action as soon as possible. 12. If the Protection Racket is not currently registered the Godfather CAN cause it to register if it is otherwise possible for em to do so. 13. If the People's Bank of Agora has an established Exchange Rate for Favors and possesses no Favors the Godfather CAN and SHALL as soon as possible create one Favor in the possession of the Protection Racket and then transfer that Favor to the PBA as a deposit. 16. BobTHJ generally CAN modify the text of this contract by announcement. BobTHJ generally CAN act on behalf of any Don by announcement. If ehird and Wooble each transfer 50 PBA Coins to BobTHJ (for no other effect than to fulfill this provision) this section is repealed. Equation of CFJ 2038 ---------------------- For the purpose of this equation, "ehird", "Protection Racket", and terms defined by the Protection Racket refer to the entities known by those names on or about June 24, 2008. Each member of the Protection Racket is PROHIBITED from causing a Protected CFJ assigned to ehird to cease to be a Protected CFJ. ehird is PROHIBITED from leaving the Protection Racket. This equation automatically terminates when ehird delivers a favored but inappropriate judgement.
