Why? Elections were always unnecessarily complex.
Currently, the entire process is telescoped into a single Agoran
Consent period, requires a separate slate of support and objections
for each candidate, and muddles the meaning of opposing a given
installation (are you supporting the incumbent or a different
candidate?). Also, while the proto returns to the old plurality
system, the resulting rules could be further amended to experiment
with different preferential systems, something that I think would
be genuinely new to Agora.
