Sounds unwise. I think one should be able to opt out at any time. But one should also not be able to go from opted-out to standing if one was previously sitting. I think there are two reasonable ways to do this. With your three-state system, I think one should be able to voluntarily change to sitting or lying down from any state; only changes *to* standing should be regulated. Alternatively, opting out could be independent of turning. -zefram
