I have never successfully deputised, so I'll do the checks explicitly. As per Rule 2160, I'll be authorized to deputise as Herald because all of these conditions hold:
1) The Herald is required to award a player that's won the game the Patent title of Champion. 2) There's no reason it wouldn't be possible. 3) I'm going to announce it later in this message. 4) I have never been Herald. 5) There are no incompatibilities. I think the office is vacant, but just in case: 6) It has been more than a week since I won. 7) There have been no changes to the office. And because I'll announce it and perform the action in a few days (thus fulfilling clause 8a). So: I intend to temporarily deputise to the office of Herald for the purposes of awarding myself the Patent title of Champion. -- juan
